Fall in Love with a Shelter Pet at the Lynchburg Humane Society during BISSELL Pet Foundation Adoption Special for Fall National Empty the Shelters™

Lynchburg Humane Society joins 390+ shelters nationwide to reduce adoption fees and find loving homes for pets.

Lynchburg, VA | October 1, 2024—BISSELL Pet Foundation, a national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending pet homelessness, is prompting a national call for adoption this fall with its Empty the Shelters reduced-fee adoption event from Oct. 1-15. The Lynchburg Humane Society will participate along with more than 390 shelters in 44 states. To help deserving shelter pets find loving homes, BISSELL Pet Foundation sponsors reduced adoption fees of $50 or less per cat or dog during each nationwide event.

• The Lynchburg Humane Society will participate October 1st through 15th at their Center for Pets on Old Graves Mill Road, offering waived adoption fees October 1st and 2nd and $50 adoption fees October 3rd through 15th for dogs six months and older (VIPs excluded October 3rd through 15th).
• All interested adopters can view pets available for adoption online at www.lynchburghumane.org/adopt or stop by during their open hours.
• Open hours are 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on weekdays and 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on weekends.

BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters event is the largest funded adoption event in the country. This lifesaving event began in 2016 with a goal of encouraging more families to choose adoption. Nearly 283,000 pets have found loving homes since its inception. Empty the Shelters is BISSELL Pet Foundation’s largest program, partnering with 742 animal welfare organizations in 49 states and Canada to reduce adoption fees.
