The Lynchburg Police Foundation has a busy Spring schedule ahead and hope that as many in Greater Lynchburg can join the events.
Honor Garden - The garden is nearing completion, and we are hopeful to have a Garden Dedication in May 2025. We are still waiting for the arrival of one of the garden centerpieces - the bronze lions! Once they arrive, we will schedule a dedication date, and an invitation will be sent out to all.
Brick Sales - If you missed purchasing a garden brick, brick sales have resumed! Visit lynchburgpolicefoundation.org and purchase a brick(s) to show your support for the Lynchburg Police Department, honor someone special in your life or remember someone through a memorial brick. Bricks purchased now will be installed in late summer 2025. Sales will probably be cut off in June!
April 16 - We will present scholarships to high school seniors of our LPD employees. Scholarships of $1,000 will be given to each qualified student to attend a college or trade school of their choice.
May 2 - The Foundation’s Annual Golf Tournament will be held at London Downs Golf Course. We will have two flights, and we are still looking for golfers and sponsors. Please go to our website at lynchburgpolicefoundation.org to find out more about the golf tournament and to find all necessary forms. All proceeds will go directly to our Helping Hands Fund.
May 10 - The Moose Lodge 715 on Lakeside Dr. will hold their Annual Car Show, from 11a.m. until 4 p.m. They have selected the Foundation as their charitable organization with all proceeds awarded to our nonprofit. Come support the car show and visit with our foundation members and employees of the LPD who will be on-site. The LPD’s drone program will be demonstrated at this event.
May 12 - National Police Week begins. On Monday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m., a Memorial Service will be held at the base of Monument Terrence. This service recognizes those brave police officers who have died in the line of service in Virginia during the past year.
May 14 - The LPD will hold its Annual Awards Ceremony at the Academy Center of the Arts to recognize those officers and professional staff employees for their outstanding work protecting the citizens of Lynchburg in 2024. This event is funded by the Lynchburg Police Foundation. We want to thank L3Harris Technologies for being our major sponsor for this event. We are still looking for additional sponsors to offset the cost of this event. You can help by sponsoring an officer or employee at $50 each or sponsoring a table for $500. Each sponsor is recognized at each table for their support.
The Lynchburg Police Foundation thank you for your support!
