Role Overview
We are looking for a talented and motivated Freelance Reporter to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in creating impactful stories that resonate with our audience. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about uncovering the truth, has a knack for storytelling, and can deliver content on a wide range of topics.

Responsibilities

• Pitch and develop story ideas that align with Lynchburg Agenda’s editorial goals and audience interest.
• Conduct thorough research, interviews, and investigations to gather exact information.
• Produce well-written, exact, and engaging content under tight deadlines.
• Maintain a high degree of journalistic ethics and integrity.
• Collaborate with editors and other team members as needed.
• Stay up to date with local news and events in Greater Lynchburg.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a reporter or journalist, with a strong portfolio of published articles.
• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to tell stories in a clear and compelling way.
• Strong research and interviewing skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with digital journalism practices and SEO principles is preferred.
• A deep understanding of Greater Lynchburg area’s culture and issues is highly desirable.
• Access to reliable transportation for on-site reporting as needed.
