Real estate transactions in the Greater Lynchburg region have shown activity, with notable high-value sales in each area.

In Bedford County, the highest transaction was the sale of Lot 12 and Lot 1A, Section 1 of Jumping Run Farms. Christine M. and Carl G. Brodt sold the property to Bradley West and Kristen Marie Howells for $1.085 million. Other significant sales included Maria A. Palumbo’s sale of a condominium unit in The Bridgewater Bay Condominium to Hastings LLC for $685,000 and Robert John Straub and Sara Mackell Straub’s sale of Lot 31 in The Fields for $610,000.

In Amherst County, the highest sale was the transfer of a 19.671-acre parcel on Virginia 659 from Barcroft Terrace, Inc. to Plaza Realty Management, Inc. for $750,000. Other transactions in the area ranged from $35,000 to $399,900, showing a mix of small residential lot sales and mid-range home purchases.

Appomattox County saw its highest-value transaction at $299,000, with Gennie Renee Anders selling Lot 6 on Morningside Drive to James D. Holofchak. Other transactions in the county varied between $25,000 and $215,000, indicating steady mid-tier residential activity.

In Campbell County, the highest recorded transaction was sold by Tammi Moore with TMoore Real Estate Group LLC for a property at 9361 Spring Mill Road, which Kendall Giles, Julia Morgan, and Anna Morgan sellers to David Arthur Moreau, Patrivia Dee Moreau, Mark Randall Petrey, and Miranda Dee Petrey for $790,655.

Other sales in Campbell County ranged from $16,000 to $340,000.

Lynchburg’s highest transaction occurred with Betsy Ferguson with Lynchburg's Finest Team selling Lot 18 in Ridgecroft AKA 3523 Ridgecroft Dr for Steven Ridout and Rachel Ridout to Gregory M. Borza and Katelyn L. Cheatham for $615,000.

Multiple properties in Bentley Grove also saw transactions of $530,000 each.

Building permits in Bedford County included a major permit issued to Jefferson Commons Commercial No. 2 LLC for an eight-apartment development at 1039 Gables Drive, valued at $3 million.

Other high-value permits included a new construction project by Michael Stanley at 1180 Grinder Switch Lane for $780,569 and Robert Hurt’s new dwelling on Fancy Farm Road for $755,470. Several other new residential developments and alterations were permitted, ranging from $18,000 to over $600,000.

A review of these transactions suggests continued investment in both residential and commercial real estate across the region. Bedford County saw some of the highest residential sales, while Lynchburg and Amherst County recorded multiple mid-to-high-value property transfers. Campbell and Appomattox counties had moderate residential sales, with Campbell showing higher-value single-family home transactions.
